Job Title:
Data-Entry Assistant
Full Time, Non-Exempt

Basic function:  To work with Donor Processing staff to enter data and maintain donor records.

Responsibilities:

Working with the Donor Processing staff, this entry-level position will:

1.  Perform data entry of direct contributions, workplace fund drive donations and
in-kind gifts.

2.  Code and create new donor accounts.

3.  Perform account maintenance including address changes and account
updates.

4.  Perform administrative tasks such as assisting with acknowledgements,
matching gift forms and other donor letters.

5.  Support Development staff with other tasks as needed and requested by the
            Database, Direct mail, Website Manager and the Vice President of
Development.

 Qualifications:  A successful candidate must have:  at least two years data entry experience in an office or organization setting; working knowledge of Microsoft word and excel programs; excellent communication and customer service skills; the ability to take direction and multi-task; and the ability to be motivated and a self-starter.

Experience in non-profit databases such as Donor 2 is a plus.

Travel:  None.

Education:  Successful completion of a degree from an accredited high school.  College education and/or additional training and certification are a plus.

Job Title:
Grants Assistant
Part Time (25 hours per week), Non-Exempt

Basic function:  To assist the Grant Writer in ensuring all interim and annual grant reports are completed in a timely manner.  Will take lead in writing of reports and gathering information.

Responsibilities:

Working with the Grants Writer, this position will:

  1. Maintain a schedule and ensure compliance for all required grant reports.

 

  1. Gather information from staff in various departments for grant reports and

complete all grants reports.

3.  Assist in the research and identification of potential grant opportunities
     from private and corporate foundations, local, state and federal
     government organizations, civic and faith-based organizations.

4.  Perform other duties as requested by the Grants Writer, the Vice
President of Development, or any member of the management team.

Qualifications:  At least two years of experience in a nonprofit setting in research and report writing; ability to write clearly and concisely.  Must be able to work with a diverse departmental and organizational team, to be organized and to be a self-starter.  Computer knowledge and expertise is required.

Schedule:  Flexible, with the approval of the Grants Writer and the Vice President of Development.

Education:  An associate degree from an accredited community college or university or its equivalent in background and experience.

Job Title:
Raleigh Warehouse Coordinator
Full Time, Non-Exempt

Basic function: The Raleigh Warehouse Coordinator supervises the end of shift activities in the Raleigh Warehouse.  This position is responsible for ensuring all loading/unloading and pres-staging occurs at the end of the daily shift.  This position also ensures safety, security, and SOPs are followed in the warehouse. 

Responsibilities:

1. With input from the Raleigh Warehouse Manager, he/she helps direct the day to day warehouse operational functions.  This includes safety management, inventory management and warehouse best practices.

2. Helps ensure all warehouse sanitation, safety, and security requirements and standards set forth by Feeding America, city, state (NCDA), federal agencies (OSHA, USDA), as well as internal standard operating procedures are followed.  Stay current with all warehouse compliances and guidelines, and ensure processes and procedures are maintained.

3. Work collaboratively and cohesively with other internal operations departments (Food Resources, Transportation, Volunteer Services) to ensure effective and productive execution of warehouse operations providing excellent customer service to all parties.

4. Act as a contact to branch operations on any load discrepancies, and maintain harmonious relationships with branch operations.

5. Actively participate in daily warehouse meetings and staff meetings.

6. Perform other duties as required by the Raleigh Warehouse Manager.

Supervision exercised:   Includes Warehouse employees.

Work Schedule:      Tuesday – Friday   10:00am – 6:30pm
Saturday   8:30am – 5:00pm

Qualifications/experience: Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse operations with expertise in inventory control systems, transportation, quality control, and operational safety.  Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.  Supervisory experience is preferred. 

Contacts:  All operations staff, partner agency representatives, vendors, donors, and volunteers.

Working conditions: General warehouse environments.  Some travel between Food Bank facilities.

Summer Food Service Coordinator, Raleigh NC
Full time

Position Summary
This position will supervise the Food Bank’s participation in the Summer Food Service program including the selection and monitoring of sites, ensuring compliance with Food Bank and state agency rules and regulations, conducting required site monitoring visits and trainings, submission of required reimbursement material, communicating program difficulties to appropriate Food Bank personnel and state agency personnel as appropriate.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct appropriate outreach activities to meet organizational sponsorship and expansion goals including recruitment and training of volunteer support.
  2. Coordinate necessary interest meetings and program operation training: purpose of program, recordkeeping requirements, meal requirements, non-discrimination training, records and forms, civil rights, etc.
  3. Coordinate and conduct required sponsor monitoring visits: pre-operational, first week visits, monitor’s site reviews including developing schedule of visits..
  4. Attend required state agency training.
  5. Ensure site compliance with onsite record keeping – inventory control sheets, meal count records, daily meal counts,
  6. Coordinate accurate completion of sponsorship application with NC Department of Health & Human Services including development of invitation to bid.
  7. Ensure accurate data entry of sponsor and site application into required database systems, i.e. NC Cares, Navision, etc., including budget entry.
  8. Ensure sponsored sites submit required recordkeeping material on weekly basis and that information is tracked, reviewed, submitted, and approved for reimbursement submission in NC Cares.
  9. Ensure logistical support and information is provided to appropriate Food Bank personnel related to product inventory and orders, deliveries and storage, etc.
  10. Provide operational and administrative support to program sites.
  11. Ensuring adequate product inventory for meal service and ordering additional product as appropriate, including the purchase of milk.
  12. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of purchases, visits, etc.
  13. Coordinate branch level SFSP kick-off events in coordination with appropriate Development & ASAP personnel.
  14. Develop and maintain accurate information on site contacts, location, etc. to ensure appropriate communication between sponsor and site.
  15. Support in development of annual SFSP budget projections and marketing material.
  16. Other duties as assigned directly related to the management of the Summer Food Service Program, up to and including recruitment of additional SFSP sites as assigned by Outreach, Evaluations & Programs Manager or Leadership Team.

 

Qualifications:
Applicant must have the following:

  • College degree or equivalent experience required
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate leadership to complete projects.
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrate ability to performance in a fast paced work environment. 
  • Commitment to understanding and supporting individual Food Bank mission.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and have a commitment to social justice.
  • Superior analytical and mathematical skills a bonus.

Applicant must also be a self-starter who can perform with little supervision; outstanding people skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent driving record as extensive travel throughout the North Carolina is required. Experience in building work teams and ability to speak Spanish preferred.
