Wilmington Branch

Job Title:Driver

Classification:24 hours per week, Non-exempt

Department: Wilmington Operations

Reports to: Wilmington Branch Warehouse Manager

Basic function: The Driver will be the primary driver for all Wal-Mart store pick ups and assist with other local deliveries and pick ups in the branch’s service area. Additionally, the Driver will assist the Warehouse Manager in the warehouse as directed when not performing driving duties.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the Organization in a friendly, professional manner in all dealings with the public. Provide a consistently high level of customer service with all customers to sustain customer relationships.
  2. Operate all equipment safely, with due care and consideration at all times. Become knowledgeable about and execute all Organization safety procedures.
  3. Maintain transportation logs, pre-trip procedures, maintenance schedule, receipts, and invoices according to organization policy.
  4. Handle all product safely, with due care and consideration at all times. Become knowledgeable about and execute Organization safe food handling policies and procedures.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment (eg., truck, pallet jack, etc.) on a daily basis.
  6. Assist with the loading and unloading of Organization and non-Organization vehicles.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties as they relate to warehouse operations as instructed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Responsible for following all organizational and operational safety policies and standard operating procedures.

Supervision exercised: None.

Qualifications: Must have a valid NC driver license and a clean driving record. A minimum of 2 years driving experience is required with a professional driving experience preferred. Performing warehouse duties when not driving is expected. Must have or be able to obtain forklift certification. Must be able to comply with company driving policy and submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Contacts: Food donors’ personnel, agency shoppers, volunteers.

Working conditions: General warehouse environment and travel when picking up or distributing product.
