Become a Partner Agency

Please answer these questions before deciding to apply for partnership with the Food Bank:

  1. Is your agency a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that is a 501(c)(3) or equivalent? Documents used to show this status are as follows (these documents must be included with an agency’s application for partnership):
    1. For 501(c)(3) organizations – A copy of the determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service is required. Click here to find out how to apply for a 501(c)(3)
    2. For churches that are part of a larger body – A copy of a current letter, written on organizational letterhead stationary, from the governing church body (i.e., Baptist State Convention) documenting its exempt status and the church’s membership in that organization.
    3. For independent churches – Completion of the form titled “Documentation List for Independent Churches.” Documents requested must be attached. Click to see Documentation List (PDF)
  2. Does your agency have a building/room to store Food Bank products? Please see storage requirements. (PDF)
  3. Does your agency serve the ill, needy or infants (children under the age of 18)? If the program does not serve people that fall into one of those categories it does not qualify for partnership with the Food Bank.
  4. Does your program charge a fee for it services (day care center, group home, etc.)? If so, you must show that at least 50% of the clients are in need. This can be demonstrated using a combination of DSS sponsorships, need-based scholarships and participants that pay on a sliding scale (documentation is required). Agencies may not charge a fee for food it receives from the Food Bank.

If your program can answer yes to questions 1, 2, and 3 and meets the requirements in #4, your agency is a potential partner with the Food Bank. To avoid duplication of services, the Food Bank partners with agencies based on their locations, types and community needs.
