Volunteer Guidelines and Online Application Forms

We appreciate all that volunteers give to the Food Bank and we hope to make this a fun experience for you. These guidelines have been established to create a safe, productive and satisfying volunteer experience for everyone.

The Food Bank facility is a warehouse. It is important to remember this at all times. For safety reasons, we ask that warehouse volunteers don't play on or use any equipment without proper training. Volunteers are not authorized to use power driven machinery; this includes fork trucks and electric pallet jacks. We ask that volunteers do not use headphones or phones while working in the warehouse and please also note that no food or drink is to be consumed on the warehouse floor.

Dress: Please keep in mind that the Food Bank is a warehouse environment and is not climate controlled. The warehouse is cool in the winter and warm in the summer, so dress accordingly. We recommend casual attire such as jeans and t-shirts; don't wear anything you are afraid may get dirty. Please do not wear short shorts, halter tops, tube tops or sandals. All volunteers must wear closed toed shoes and will not be permitted to work without them (no sandals or flip flops please).

Valuables: Due to a lack of storage space, volunteers should not bring valuables into the warehouse. We have nowhere to store purses, jackets or other valuable items.
